Chicago Protest Today: Planned Parent-Child Relationship Illinois Rally Against Texas Abortion Law At Federal Plaza

Chicago (WLS)-People gathered at the Federal Plaza on Friday held a rally against the country’s most restrictive Texas abortion law.

“We need to let you know that Texas law isn’t widespread and can’t be a continuous pattern for other countries,” said Planned Parenthood volunteer Maria Harden.

The law prohibits abortion after 6 weeks, even in the case of rape and incest.

Jennifer Welch, CEO of Illinois Planning Custody, said:

Rally organizer Planned Parenthood Illinois took advantage of Friday’s protests to ensure that abortion is safe and legal here under the Illinois Reproductive Health and Care Act, taking advantage of Friday’s protests in Illinois and other states. Reminded the woman that the health center is open.

If surrounding conservative states such as Indiana, Missouri, and Kentucky follow the leadership of Texas, the planned parent-child relationship Illinois is preparing for a significant increase in out-of-state cases.

“It will put more pressure on Illinois, and the state will be a midwestern abortion dump,” said Eric Chahidler of the Pro Life Action League.

Members of the anti-abortion movement staged their own protests during today’s planned parent-child rally.

“I am grateful that Texas is taking steps to save lives,” said Sarah Miharak.

But protesters of the right to abortion, especially women who remember the day before the Roe v. Wade case, say the country cannot return.

“Abortion can be life-threatening. Women can die from illegal abortions,” said Sue Carrel.

Planned Parenthood hopes that the proposed federal law and Texas bans in the Justice Department’s proceedings will help protect women’s choices.
