“It’s more like Joni Mitchell’s song. We took the parking lot and turned it into a garden,” said Vinnie Paul, president and artistic director of the Music Hall Center.

Paul says the idea of turning their parking lot into a beautiful entertainment space was first born for a pandemic.

“We really wanted to bring color and vibrancy to the city, but it was also a reaction to Covid. Let’s move the program outdoors for a while,” Paul said.

“We booked activities for the entire season, both outdoors and indoors. The 21st to 22nd seasons are full.”

The season kick-off begins on Friday, May 21st, celebrating the 50th anniversary.th Anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”. The event is private and serves as the music hall’s annual fundraising activity. Stay tuned for other performances.

“It’s going to be the densest music hall season ever, with literally hundreds of performances,” Paul said.
