An exhibition of a museum featuring immersive digital art by Vincent van Gogh opens in Indianapolis

Step into the room, surrounded by the work of one of the most legendary artists to date, and illuminated by a digital gallery. The Indianapolis Museum of Art in Newfields will soon begin a multi-sensory digital technology experience called THE. LUME Indianapolis.THE LUME will take over the entire 4th floor of the museum and display Van Gogh’s popular artwork such as Starry Night and Sunflowers. The artwork will be displayed from floor to ceiling by 150 high-definition projectors. Guests are encouraged to lie on their backs or sit on the floor to experience a fascinating 360-degree immersive exhibit with the choreographed soundtrack. Food, Drinks, “This new breakthrough cultural offering is an important milestone for the Indianapolis Museum of New Fields and for Indianapolis as a whole,” said Jonathan Berger, Deputy Director of Marketing and Foreign Affairs. “THE LUME Indianapolis connects technology and art through an accessible digital exhibition aimed at attracting audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Through THE LUME, cutting-edge multi-sensory technology becomes a museum experience. We are excited to embrace it. We hope that this new way of experiencing for new and experienced visitors will become a staple of the museum. ‚ÄĚLUME Indianapolis is unlike any other van. The content of THE LUME rotates every year, but Van Gogh shows that the technology and layout of the digital gallery is permanent. THE LUME Indianapolis will be open to the public on July 27th. LUME Indianapolis is different from other Van Gogh shows. LUME content is rotated annually, but the technology and layout of the digital gallery is permanent.
