Phoenix (AP) Arizona Diamondbacks fired batter coach Darnell Coles and assistant batter coach Eric Hinske on Thursday, struggling to score in a brutal match that lost 30 out of 35 games.

Diamondbacks has appointed a co-batting coach to replace them. Rick Short was promoted from Triple-AReno and Drew Hedman was the Lamp Production Coordinator in Arizona.

Arizona has the worst 20-43 record in the majors. D-Bucks lost the franchise record in 19 straight road games.

Veteran-led lineups such as Ketel Marte, David Peralta, Nick Ahmed and Eduardo Escobar have been struggling to produce, especially in the last two weeks. Arizona had two hits on Wednesday with a 4-0 defeat to Oakland.

The Diamondbacks have hit .231 as a team and have recorded only 12 runs in their last six games.
