Actress Anne Heche ‘has a long recovery’ after car crash Entertainment

Anne Heche is hospitalized and in intensive care after the car she was driving crashed into a Los Angeles home on Friday and was engulfed in flames.

“Anne is in the ICU. Lucky to be alive. She has suffered severe burns and will have a long recovery. Her team and family are still trying to work out what led to the crash.” A source close to Heche told CNN on Saturday morning.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jeff Lee told CNN on Friday.

Heche was taken to a local hospital in critical condition by the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. According to the LAFD, it took firefighters more than an hour to “access, contain, and completely extinguish the stubborn blaze within the badly damaged structure.”

No other injuries were reported.

CNN reached out to Heche’s rep for comment.

Heche first rose to fame in the Daytime Emmy Award-winning soap opera Another World, playing the dual roles of twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love from 1987 to 1991. She followed that up with films like ‘Donnie Brasco’, ‘Six Days Seven Nights’ and ‘Wag the Dog’.

Her romantic relationship with Ellen DeGeneres in the late ’90s attracted media attention and sparked Heche’s professional frustration. In a 2021 interview 6 pagesHeche said she felt “blacklisted” after going public with their relationship.

Heche, who dated DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000, said, “I didn’t do studio photography for 10 years.
