The snowfall made the roads slippery and reduced visibility throughout the area.

Multiple collisions and road closures have been reported on highways and public roads. Whiteout conditions have been reported towards the Wisconsin border.

Friday afternoon will see occasional snow showers.

The skies clear late Friday night, but another snowmaker is due to arrive on Saturday.

Areas south of I-80 will have less accumulation. Expect 1-2 inches there. In areas near the Illinois-Wisconsin border, it can appear as close as 5 inches.
