A man shot by a Gary police officer, under investigation

Gary, Indiana — Gary police officers shot a man with a gun on Sunday, urging police-involved shooting investigations.

According to police, Gary’s police officers responded to 2300 blocks on Johnson Street at around 4:45 pm, and an armed man made the dwelling “dangerous.”

Gary police said police officers “forced” fired and beat the suspect during contact with an armed man.

The condition of the armed man is unknown.

Gary police said they would not comment further on the case. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be responsible for the investigation.
