How to create your own Save the Dates

How do you create your own save the dates? I’ve seen some really cool ones on Pinterest but they don’t look very professional.

If you want to send out save the dates for your wedding, you’ll need to design them yourself. This involves creating a template, adding text and images, and printing them out.

You can also hire someone to do this for you. There are lots of companies who specialize in designing save the date cards. They usually charge anywhere from $50-$100 per card. Check out basicinvites.com for some professional save the dates. For DIYer’s, here are some tips to help you create your own creative and professional save the dates.

1) Start with a Template.

You can find templates online or at any craft store. The easiest way is to print off a template that has been designed by someone else. If you have Photoshop, you can use it to edit the image. Once you’re happy with how it looks, you can then print it out. You can add your wording and pictures after this step.

2) Add Text & Images.

Once you have the template printed, you can start adding text and images. Use different fonts depending on what kind of feel you want to give off. Try using a font that has a vintage feel.

3) Print It Out!

Once you’re done editing your save the date, you can just print it out. Make sure you get a high quality printer so that the details will be clear.

4) Cut It Out!

Now that you have everything cut out, you can glue it all together. First, put down tape on the back side of the paper where you want the pieces to go. Then, place each piece on top of the tape. Finally, peel away the backing paper and stick it onto your invitation.

5) Voila!

Now you have your own save the dates. You can even make extra copies if you like. Just remember to keep track of which one is which.

6) Send Them Out!

Once you have your save the dates ready, it’s time to mail them out. Don’t forget to include a note with your RSVPs explaining when you would love to see them.

7) Enjoy!

Don’t forget to enjoy these special days as much as you plan them. Have fun planning your big day and sending out your save the dates.

8) Be creative

Remember, there are no rules to save the dates. Feel free to be creative and unique. Just make sure you follow the guidelines above to ensure that your save the dates look great.

9) Be stylish

Save the dates should reflect the style of your wedding. Keep in mind that you’ll be receiving many more invitations than you did before. So, make sure that your save the dates stand out.

10) Include RSVP information

When you receive your save the dates, you’ll probably receive an envelope with a postcard inside. Put your RSVP information on the postcard and return it to the sender. This lets them know whether or not you’d like to attend their event.
