A 14-year-old ammunition dies during an attempted robbery of a retired Sheriff Cook County

Chicago (CBS)- One of the people accused of trying to rob a retired Sheriff Cook County officer in April died after the retired officer shot him.

According to the Cook County Medical Inspector’s Office, Chicago’s 14-year-old Corey Mason died Wednesday.

After 5 pm on April 28, police said the 60-year-old victim had three men appearing and one of them stabbed a gun in his back at 2800 blocks on West 66th Avenue. I was walking towards the car. The other two robbed him of his property.

Jermont Terry of CBS2 reported that retired officers are okay. All signs showed that he protected himself When three robbers pointed their guns at them and tried to steal everything they had.

Chicago police said the victim shot one of three in his head. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in a critical situation.

CBS 2 was said to have been distraught by a retired officer after the shooting, but was even more upset when he saw how young the boy who shot his head was.

Police found and arrested two other suspected robbers a few blocks away.
