With the Super Bowl scheduled for Sunday, February 13, 2022, there is a lot of excitement about the big game. The Cincinnati Bengals will play the LA Rams at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. It marks the second time a Super Bowl game plays in the home stadium of a participating team.

There are about 35 Super Bowl winners, and you might question which quarterbacks have the best record. You might also want to know who has the most Super Bowl appearances or wins by the team.

Here is the top 10 list of Super Bowl winners, and the names and number of victories might shock you.

NFL Super Bowl Champions with The most Super Bowl Wins

1. Tom Brady: Five Super Bowl MVPs, Seven Rings

Call Tom Brady unstoppable as he has the most Super Bowl wins. While the 44-year-old Californian recently announced his retirement, his record has been pretty unbeatable. Brady has seven Super Bowl titles under his belt, and the quarterback has twice as many victories as any other player on our list.

As the quarterback with most Super Bowl wins, Brady played for 22 seasons, 20 with New England, two with Tampa Bay. The Patriot started for 18 seasons and won Super Bowls in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019.

A 2000 draft pick, Brady was picked 199th overall by New England in what would be called the biggest draft steal in league history. Did they know he would one day score the most Super Bowl wins by player?

Brady led the Pats to 17 titles (11 consecutive wins from 2009-2019), had 13 AFC wins (eight consecutively from 2011-2018), and made ten appearances to the Super Bowl (number ten with the Bucs). How many times has he been to Disney?

With Brady on their team last year, the Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV, and he became the oldest QB to win a championship and MVP (age 43). Brady is also the only quarterback to win in three different decades.

2. Joe Montana: 4 Wins

Apart from Troy Aikman and Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, the Comeback Kid, is the only other QB who has an undefeated record for Super Bowl wins with three appearances.

Among the NFL Super Bowl winners, Montana played 16 seasons and led the 49ers to four Super Bowl wins (1982, 1985, 1989, and 1990). He won the MVP title three times and had 273 TDs and 40,551 yards. Career highlights include his game-winning TD pass in the 1981 Supe Bowl against Dallas.

The Number-One Clutch Quarterback (2006) also had a phenomenal 92-yard drive in Super Bowl XXIII against Cincinnati. The Pennsylvanian who attended Notre Dame is the all-time leader in career passes in Super Bowl games (127.8).

3. Terry Bradshaw: 4 Super Bowl Titles

Many recognize Bradshaw as the hilarious personality on FOX’s NFL Pregame Show. The Louisianan, who played for the Steelers, has a phenomenal track record.

Of the best Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, Bradshaw, who played for 14 seasons, led Pittsburgh to four Super Bowl victories in 1975, 1976, 1979, and 1980. He won two Super Bowl MVPs.

The Hall of Famer (1989) had eight AFC championships and had one of the most powerful arms in sports history. Bradshaw passed for 3,833 yards and completed 261 passes in 19 postseason games. In four Super Bowls, he passed for 932 yards and had nine touchdowns.

4. Troy Aikman: 3 Wins

As a FOX sports anchor, Troy Aikman is a former quarterback who played for 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. The Californian, who moved to Oklahoma, was drafted by Dallas in 1989.

The first player with two title wins and six Pro Bowl picks, Aikman led the Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories in four years (1993, 1994, 1996). Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2006), he won the coveted Pete Rozelle MVP trophy his first time up.

5. Eli Manning: 2 Wins

Having played for 16 seasons with the Giants, Eli Manning is the only player listed here who is not in the Hall of Fame. The little brother to Peyton and son of Archie Manning, a former NFL quarterback, Eli formerly played for Ole Miss and was drafted by the Chargers in 2004.

The QB received accolades for leading the New York Giants to two Super Bowl victories (XLII, XLVI).  With a regular-season record of 117-117, Manning excelled in the playoffs with 8-4 and 2-0.

Manning, who holds records for completions, TD passes, and passing yards, defeated Tom Brady and New England in two massive upset wins in 2008 and 2012. He won MVP for both championships. How ‘bout them apples?

6. Peyton Manning: 2 Wins

The other Manning on our list, Peyton, the older brother to Eli, had a phenomenal playing career. He had a great 186-79 regular-season record, but Peyton was only 14-13 with his playoff games and 2-2 for Super Bowl games.

Manning helped the Indianapolis Colts clinch the Super Bowl victory in 2007 and led the Denver Broncos to their win in his last season (2015).

7. Ben Roethlisberger: 2 Wins

Big Ben played for 18 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The former Ohio player was drafted in 2004 by the Steelers, and Roethlisberger recently announced his retirement.

In 2004, he received the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was a Pro Bowl pick in 2007. The youngest quarterback with a Super Bowl win, he helped lead Pittsburgh to the championship game three times, and they won twice in 2006 and 2009.

Ben was only in his second season and 23-years-old when they upset the Seahawks at Super Bowl XL with a 21-10 win. The second win was against the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLII. He had a game-winning TD pass (to Santonio Homles) with only 35-seconds on the clock. A third Super Bowl appearance (XLV) led to a loss (31-25) against Green Bay.

Incidentally, when it comes to who has the most Super Bowls for a team, the list includes:

  • Pittsburgh Steelers: 6
  • New England Patriots: 6
  • San Francisco 49ers: 5
  • Dallas Cowboys: 5
  • Green Bay Packers: 4
  • New York Giants: 4
  • Denver Broncos: 3
  • Washington Commanders: 3
  • LA / Oakland Raiders: 3
  • Baltimore / Indianapolis Colts: 2
  • Kansas City Chiefs: 2
  • Baltimore Ravens: 2
  • Miami Dolphins: 2
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 2
  • New York Jets, New Orlean Saints, LA / St. Louis Rams, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, and Philadelphia Eagles: 1 each

8. John Elway: 2 Wins

Elway is a former quarterback that played for 16 seasons with the Denver Broncos. Drafted in 1983 by the Baltimore Colts, the Washingtonian eventually traded to the mile-high city.

Elway had the most victories for a starting quarterback and was the second-best passer in league history. He would go to the playoffs eight times and win the Super Bowl two times, (three if you include Super Bowl 50 when he was an executive). He helped with a 98-yard TD drive to tie the AFC game against the Browns. Two consecutive Super Bowl victories came in 1998 (defeating the Packers 31-24) and 1999 (defeating the Falcons 34-19).

Voted Super Bowl MVP, Elway had five Super Bowl starts, a record broken by Tom Brady. The Hall of Famer (2004) retired and became a GM and executive VP for the Broncos.

9. Jim Plunkett: 2 Wins

Plunkett is a former quarterback who played for 16 seasons, the final eight with the Oakland Raiders, for two Super Bowl victories.

The Californian is a Heisman Trophy winner who was also a 1971 draft pick for the New England Patriots. Despite early league struggles and a record of 34-53, Plunkett played for the Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Raiders.

At age 32, the backup became starting quarterback and led Oakland to their Super Bowl victory in 1981. Plunkett was promoted again from backup to starter with the relocating LA Raiders, who went on to win Super Bowl XVIII. Plunkett is the only quarterback with two championship wins who is not in the Hall of Fame.

10. Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Bob Griese: 2 Wins

Given that 12 quarterbacks hold a minimum of two championship wins, we added the remaining names here.

Bart Starr played for the Green Bay Packers and led them to their Super Bowl wins in 1967 and 1968 (the first Super Bowls). Roger Staubach, who played for the Dallas Cowboys, would lead them to Super Bowl victories in 1972 and 1978. Bob Griese helped get the Miami Dolphins to the Super Bowl in 1973 and 1974, where they won.

Who Will Win The LVI Super Bowl?

And then there were two. The Cincinnati Bengals and LA Rams will face off in the Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium. The game occurs Sunday, February 13 at 6:30 pm ET and will air live on NBC.

The Halftime Show

The celebrity lineup for the Super Bowl 56 Halftime Show includes Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and a few guest appearances.

Super Bowl Double

Damion Square (formerly with the LA Raiders) and Zach Kerr (formerly with the Arizona Cardinals), defensive tackles for the Bengals, are the Super Bowl Double.

While both players started on a different team’s roster,  because of new roster rules due to Covid-19, teams can elevate players from practice squads into the game (thereby making them eligible to be signed).

Parlays, Point Spreads, and More

While there is no top-three seed, and the game is in the home stadium for a playing team, there is a lot of anticipation around the odds, point spreads, money lines, players, parlays, and prop bets.

With point spreads, Super Bowl betting sites have the LA Rams -4.5 favored to win by over 4.5 points.

Money lines have the LA Rams -188 as the favorites to win. The Bengals +160 as the underdogs to win

The Rams defense will be better positioned to try and shut down Chase and Higgins. Those on the Rams money line may not want to call for a blowout, as the Bengals offensive line may not live up to the hype. The Rams may have enough with Stafford and their trench play.

Total scoring over/under: 48.5 points (scores combined for both teams)

Rams defense versus Bengals offense? It might be a huge mismatch as the Bengals have a quarterback who knows how to work under pressure. They were 8-2 straight up during their top 10 high-pressure matches.

Prop Bets

Some of the biggest prop bets for Super Bowl LVI include:

  • Rams total score over/under 26.5 points
