4 killed, 21 wounded in Chicago shooting

Chicago (CBS) – As of Saturday, at least four people had been killed and 21 injured in weekend shootings across the city. At least four of the victims are under the age of 18.

In the first shooting of the weekend, a 22-year-old man was shot outside the West Pullman neighborhood on Friday night.

The shooting occurred at Block 12800 on South Row at approximately 6:19 pm.

Police said the victim had multiple gunshot wounds to his body by an unidentified gunman while he was on the street.

The victim was self-transferred to Ingalls Hospital and listed in good condition.

A man was grazed by a bullet while walking through Inglewood on Friday.

Police said the 43-year-old victim was walking on a sidewalk on the 900 block of West 69th Street at about 9:45 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt pain.

The victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital by the Chicago Fire Department in good condition with abrasions to his left arm and abdomen.

A 31-year-old man was shot near an alley in Auburn Gresham on Friday night.

The victim was on the sidewalk of Block 7900 in South Laughlin at approximately 10:27 pm when an unidentified gunman opened fire from an alleyway.

The victim was brought to Christ by CFD in good condition with a gunshot wound to the right arm.

A man was shot on a sidewalk in Archer Heights.

The 21-year-old victim was on the 5000-block sidewalk in South Kildare at approximately 10:22 pm on Friday when the occupants of a black sedan opened fire.

The victim had a gunshot wound to the buttock and was taken by CFD to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

A man was shot while driving in West Inglewood.

The 35-year-old victim was driving south on Block 5900 in South Justin at about 10:34 pm when he heard gunshots and was in pain.

The victim was transported to C University by CFD in good condition with a gunshot wound to the left arm.

Other shoots from 5pm Friday to 5am Monday:

· At 12:49 am on Saturday at Block 1500 on East 74th Street, the occupants of a darkened sedan opened fire on a 48-year-old man as he was walking on the sidewalk. The victim, who was shot in the abdomen, was transported to the U of C by his CFD in critical condition.

· At 12:14 am on Saturday at Block 0-100 in North Kilbourne, a 31-year-old woman was shot on the pavement by the occupants of a red sedan. The victim was shot in her buttocks and in good condition was transported by her CFD to Mount Sinai.

· At 10:14 pm on Friday at Block 3900 on South King Drive, two 17-year-old victims were walking on the pavement when they heard gunshots and felt pain. The first victim was lowered to St. Bernard’s Hospital with a gunshot wound in the buttocks and was transferred to Stroger in good condition.The second victim was also lowered to St. Bernard’s Church with a gunshot wound in the left leg. , is in good condition.

· At 1 a.m. on Saturday, at Block 7400 in South Calumet, an adult man was standing on the sidewalk with several others when shots were fired. The victim was shot in the left leg and in good condition he was taken to the U of C.

· At 1:45 am on Saturday at 300 blocks on West 18th Street, a 29-year-old man was driving east on 18th Street when the occupants of a black SUV opened fire. The victim was shot in the face and CFD brought him to Stroger in good condition.

· At 2:13 a.m. Saturday, at Block 4300 in South Woods, a 27-year-old man was driving east on 43rd Street when several men opened fire on him from a corner. The victim was shot in the back and brought to his Stroger in good condition by CFD.

· At 1:50 am on Saturday, at 6800 in South Walcott, two people were standing on the pavement when an unknown man opened fire. A 51-year-old man had a gunshot wound in his left arm and in good condition he was taken to the U of C. A 56-year-old woman was brought to her U of C in good condition with a gunshot wound to her leg.

At 2:05 a.m. Saturday on Block 0-100 of West 79th Street, according to initial information relating to police, a 29-year-old man was seen in a CTA Red Line vehicle by an unknown man, according to eyewitnesses. A man opened fire. The victim was taken to his C University and pronounced dead with gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen.

· At 1:27 am on Saturday at Block 9100 in South Carpenter, two teenagers were walking on the sidewalk when a male criminal approached and opened fire. A 16-year-old boy was shot in his right leg and taken to Jackson Park Hospital. A 15-year-old boy was also taken down to Jackson’s Park Hospital, but was in good condition with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

· A 33-year-old man was shot while walking on the pavement at 2100 blocks of the South Canal at 2 a.m. Saturday. The victim was lowered into Stroger by his friend and is listed in good condition with a gunshot wound to his right arm.

· At 3:20 am on Saturday at Block 6700 on South Crieger Avenue, a 28-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk when he heard gunshots and was in pain. The victim was brought down to St. Bernard in good condition with a gunshot wound to his right arm.

· At 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, the occupants of a black sedan opened fire on two men as they stood in a parking lot at Block 400 in South Clark. A 29-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his body and pronounced dead. A 23-year-old man was also transported to the Northwest with gunshot wounds to his right leg and arm.

· At 3:15 a.m. Saturday, on the 200 block of West 87th Street, a 26-year-old man was shot while standing in a parking lot with several people. The victim was lowered into Stroger with a gunshot wound to the chest and pronounced dead.

· At 3:48 am Saturday morning at Block 2400 in West Erie, a 31-year-old man was walking outside when he heard gunshots and felt pain. He was taken to Rush Hospital and was in good condition with a single gunshot wound to his left ankle.

· A 28-year-old man was in his car at 4:43 a.m. Saturday at Block 7100 in South Ashland when unidentified criminals broke in from the passenger side and showed him a firearm. The criminal then demanded his car, and he complied. As the criminal was trying to flee the scene, he was shot at him. The victim was taken to his C University and was in good condition with his one gunshot wound in his left leg.

· A 30-year-old male victim was found unresponsive outside at the location above at 5:13 am on Saturday at the 4000 Block in West Monroe. Declared dead.

· At 6:22 am on Saturday at Block 8300 in South Peoria, a 34-year-old man was outside when he heard gunshots and felt pain. He was taken to his C University and was in good condition with his one gunshot wound to his left shoulder and his one gunshot wound to his left wrist.

No one has been taken into custody in either case.
